PSBI for January 2012

Public Relations committee chair Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio reported on the results of the Small Business survey.  The profit index is down while the outlook index has jumped up, especially in comparison with December when it was at a low.  Web traffic was fairly quiet over the past 30 days, which Erik attributes partly to the holidays.  He noted that Facebook sent 42 visits to the site. People came to the site searching for: gleim the jeweler, larick alan hill, jill bibo, karatin blowout menlo park, and how to really clean your tongue.

Public Relations committee chair Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio reported that the Peninsula Small Business Index continued on its slow decline.  While profits and workload are still high this month, the outlook for next month is the lowest in a year.  Web traffic remained the same, but time spent on the site is the highest ever, which he attributed to blog content.  People came to the site searching for: bobbie fakkema, dr charles fulanovich, judy ott, kaye sharbrough, and konrad thaler smilin dogs.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio reported that the overall score for the Peninsula Small Business Index was down a little bit in November, while pointing out that the total is still over 100, which means things are improving.  Traffic on the website is steady; traffic to the blog has now surpassed traffic to the directory page.  People found the PEA site by searching for business leads exchange peninsula, tax notice Mike Clark, and tax notice.  There were also searches for “craig calkins arborist” and “jon maystrik”.

Public Relations committee chair Erik JacobsenThreestory Studio reported that the Peninsula Small Business Index still reported very positive business levels for PEA members (although not at the record level of last month).  Web traffic for the past 30 days shows new highs for page views, pages per visit, and time spent on the site.  He believes this is due to the richer content provided by the blog.   People found their way to the PEA site by searching for: jon maystrik, dan ingerman wemorph, bus barn follies, how to handle tax notice, and david oneal los altos computer doctor.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio gave the monthly public relations report.  Erik says that the Peninsula Small Business Index is at its highest value since the beginning – continuing to buck the trend of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.  Profits, workload and outlook are all reported as increasing.  Web traffic remains at the middle end of the range, as is expected in the summer.  People found their way to the PEA web site by searching for: Bobbie Fakkema, Carol Garsten, Jill Bibo, David Gaskill Advertising, and McRoskey Mattress labor practices.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio gave the monthly Public Relations Committee report.  Erik reported that there was a bump up in the overall numbers for PEA, bucking the trend of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Web traffic was at the middle end of the range, as expected for summer traffic.  The Nature Gallery sent a visitor to the PEA site.  People found their way to the PEA web site by searching for:  “brad brown new york life” “arborwell” “clear window screen material” and “car detailing in a 2011 recession”.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio gave the monthly Public Relations Committee report.  Erik reported that while there is a dip in the overall index, outlook is still positive for the majority of PEA members.  Web traffic was on the high end of the range with more unique visitors than ever.  Saber Roofing and Smilin Dogs each sent two visitors to the PEA site via a link on their site.  There are instructions on how to do this in the Members area of the PEA site.  People found their way to the site by searching on: pillow bar, keratin blowout special, tips for replacing window screens, and on California bone marrow and organ donations leave.  These are all subjects of PEA blog posts.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio gave the Public Relations monthly report.  Overall, the index is still quite high with the change in profits reaching a new high this month.  Traffic to the web site was on the high end this month with more unique visitors than ever.  There was a big increase in traffic from Facebook (55 visits compared to 100 visits via Google).  People found their way to the PEA site by searching for Neal Coogler, keratin blow out, better window screens, and fathers day gift business execs.

Erik Jacobsen, Threestory Studio gave the monthly report on behalf of the Public Relations committee.  Erik says that the Peninsula Small Business Index is at an all-time high at 137.3.  Erik thinks this reflects that PEA businesses are not just being optimistic but are getting results as seen in higher profits as well as higher work loads.

Public Relations Committee chair Erik JacobsenThreestory Studio reported that the Peninsula Small Business survey showed another increase to set a new record high.  The record high change in outlook last month is reflected in record high changes in profit and workload this month.
